About St Albans

St Albans is situated west of Hatfield and east of Hemel Hempstead, around 19 miles north of London and 8 miles southwest of Welwyn Garden City. St. Albans is a city in the commuter belt north of London, England. St Albans stands out as a unique English Cathedral City. Its vast centuries-old cathedral features medieval wall paintings and is partially built from the remains of Roman walls, taken from the nearby Verulamium Park, which has ornamental lakes and significant remains of the city’s ancient Roman wall still. The clock tower in the city centre dates from 1405, it is the only still-standing medieval bell tower in England. You can climb the 90 odd narrow steps up to the top, where the views over the city and surrounding countryside are worth the effort. The cobbled streets and medieval buildings in the centre are lined with a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays (hence it is considered a ‘market town’), including many food stalls amongst the fruit and veg. Stanley Kubrick lived nearby and every year there are both film and food and drink festivals, situated in various locations around the town.

St Albans is just 20 minutes from London St Pancras, a short hop off the M1 and M25 motorways, within easy reach of London Luton and Heathrow airports. As it is a commuter town (often referred to as a dormitory town) house prices are very high and many residents undertake home renovation and extension projects. We are situated with our yard close to St Albans and are therefore ideally situated to provide waste disposal and management services to local residents and building companies.
